The Custodian Day Person supports this mission by performing custodial, maintenance, and grounds duties, ensuring safe, clean, and well-maintained environments for students, staff, and community members.

Your Role Will Include:

• Assume responsibility for building operations in the Building Engineer’s absence; provide work direction to custodians.
• Perform custodial duties including cleaning classrooms, restrooms, and common areas; floor care (including stripping, sealing, and vacuuming); washing windows, walls, and lockers; and general cleaning in accordance with district standards.
• Maintain and repair building systems and equipment, including minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work, as well as monitoring building automation systems and boiler operation; report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate coordinator promptly.
• Ensure facility safety and security by securing buildings, monitoring for and reporting vandalism or unauthorized individuals, and maintaining safe conditions through snow removal and grounds upkeep.
• Support building operations by painting district facilities as needed; assisting with event setup/teardown; supporting kitchen needs; maintaining logs; communicating work directives; and providing customer service to staff, students, and community members.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minnesota Second Class C boiler license required upon hire.
• Minnesota First Class C boiler license preferred.
• Experience cleaning and maintaining commercial or institutional facilities is a plus.

Salary and Benefits:

• Starting pay: $22.36–$31.71/hour depending on experience.

Locations & Shift Times:

• Basswood Elementary, Full Time, hours 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
• Aspen Ridge Elementary, Full Time, hours 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
