The Grounds/Ice Arena Person supports this mission by maintaining district buildings, grounds, and ice arena facilities year-round.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Maintain two sheets of ice at the Ice Arena and deliver excellent customer service to arena users.
  • Maintain fields and landscapes including mowing, string trimming, pruning, weeding, and debris removal.
  • Prepare and care for athletic play surfaces (natural and synthetic); lay out and stripe athletic fields.
  • Perform snow plowing and de-icing on pavement and walking surfaces.
  • Install and repair concrete, blacktop, chain link fencing, irrigation systems, and athletic equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of grounds equipment, including ice maintenance equipment.
  • Replace thermostatic and flow traps, steam traps, and door closures in heating systems as needed.
  • Clean bathrooms, locker rooms, and event spaces following district standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to obtain a Minnesota Specialist Boiler License within one year of hire.
  • Willingness to obtain an EPA Certified Pesticide Applicator License within one year of hire.

Preferred:

  • Experience in commercial groundskeeping and/or ice arena operations.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Starting pay: $22.36/hour - $31.71/hour (Classification 4).

Location and Shift Times:

  • Educational Service Center, Maple Grove. Full Time, Year-Round. Schedule varies by season.
  • Oct 1 to Apr 30 (Ice Arena): Sun/Mon 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Tue to Thu 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
  • Apr 1 to May 1 and Sep 1 to Oct 1 (Grounds): Mon to Fri 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • May 1 to Aug 30 (Grounds): Mon to Fri 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
